HebrewWoot & GreekWoot Mixtapes

Where did the HebrewWoot videos go? There used to be dozens of embedded YouTube videos from Six13, the Maccabeats and others, all embedded on the front page of BibleWoot. At some point the videos started to slow down loading time, so I moved them to their own page. Click here, or go to the dropdown "Biblical Studies" menu in the navigation bar and click on "HebrewWoot Mixtape."  I maintain a larger, current, curated list of Hebrew music videos at my Pinterest page

I also made two HebrewWoot Spotify playlists. The first is a general list of interesting Hebrew & Hebrew/English songs, and the second is  the "HebrewWoot for Learning" playlist. The "for Learning" playlist consists of songs that teach Hebrew phrases or that are entirely in Hebrew. When possible, this list also contains groupings of the same songs done in different styles. For example, "Od Yavo Shalom (Salaam)" has about nine different versions that are listed together, "Oseh Shalom" has six versions, and so on.

There are a few songs in my Spotify that may not show up on the playlists. One of the songs is "Ki L'Olam Chasdo" by Six13. It is a jazzy acapella version of a traditional song sung in synagogue. Hebrew lyrics & their English translation can be found here. It is consistently one of my Hebrew classes' favorite songs.

I couldn't find very many Greek videos to include on BibleWoot, but I did make an iTunes playlist. Click on  GreekWoot 2011 to open the playlist on iTunes.
